2013 — The Foundation. Our story began with a clear mission: to address the growing need for qualified healthcare professionals in Zambia. Founded as the University College of Health Sciences (UNICOHS), we opened our doors with a pioneering cohort of just 8 students.
2015 — Evolution and Rebranding. Responding to market demands, we evolved and rebranded as UNICOHS University College — expanding beyond health sciences into business, management and technical-vocational education.
2017–2023 — A Period of Rapid Growth. Our student body grew to over 1,200 students, and we graduated more than 500 professionals in Clinical Medicine & Environmental Health, Registered Nursing & Public Health, Business Administration, and our flagship Level 3 Certificate in Customs Clearing. We also achieved registration under the Higher Education Authority (HEA), a watershed moment officially solidifying our status as a recognised and accredited University College.
To date, we have graduated over 370 students, with 257 known to be employed in the health sector, contributing directly to national development. Our mission extends beyond the classroom through the training of Community Health Workers, TB treatment supporters, and community-based health promotion activities.
